5786 A Season of Renewal

Celebrate. Reflect. Reconnect.

Join us as we welcome 5786 with warmth, reflection, and community. Whether you’re joining us in person or online, we invite you to experience the beauty and meaning of the High Holidays with Temple Concord.

As the shofar sounds and the Days of Awe begin, we enter 5786 guided by the ancient rhythms of Jewish tradition — with tefillah rooted in kavanah, the wisdom of Rabbi Ilan Emanuel, and music alive with ruach, lifted by the voice of Cantor Kari Siegel Eglash.

Together, we gather as one kehillah — open to all, grounded in tradition, and united in hope for the year ahead.

All are welcome — but registration is required.

Please register in advance for all High Holiday services and events so that we can welcome you safely and comfortably.

  • Honor Their Memory. Carry Their Legacy.

The longing to be remembered is deeply human. We mark names on stones, not only to mourn those we’ve lost, but to carry their presence forward — with love, with gratitude, and with purpose.

Temple Concord’s Roll of Remembrance is our sacred tradition of honoring departed loved ones during the High Holy Days. This year, we invite you to inscribe the names of family and friends whose memory you carry in your heart. Their names will appear in our community’s Roll of Remembrance booklet, shared during the Yizkor Memorial Service.

    🔹 Recent losses

🔹 Plaques and stained-glass inscriptions from 910 Madison

    🔹 Golden Memorial Book names

🔹 And those you wish to remember today

Whether you’ve participated in the past or are adding a name for the first time, your presence in this tradition is a mitzvah — a meaningful act of memory and connection.

    📖 How to Participate

A PDF version of the booklet will be available on our website. Printed copies are available upon request.

    Minimum suggested donation:

    • $36 for members

    • $72 for non-members

To submit names or renew last year’s listing, please fill out the Roll of Remembrance Form by Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

📩 Or email your submission to: lillian@templeconcord.org

Let us remember together — in love, in gratitude, and in community.

  • Share Your Joy. Celebrate Our Community.

“Simcha” means joy—and we want to celebrate yours.

Whether it was a wedding, a new baby, a graduation, or a puppy who stole your heart—big or small, if it made you smile, laugh, or kvell this year, we want to hear it.

As we prepare for the High Holy Days, Temple Concord invites you to share a simcha—a joyful story from the past year that brought light into your life. Your submission will become part of our Joyful Journeys: Stories of Simcha collection, a meaningful companion to our Roll of Remembrance.

🕊 What You Share Lives On

    Simcha submissions will appear:

    • Online through our High Holy Day homepage

    • In print, available by request

    • In our archives, as part of a growing collection of Temple Concord’s joyful moments for years to come

Just 3–5 lines and a photo is all it takes to spread a little joy and uplift our whole community.

    💙 How to Share

    • Send your simcha story (max 5 lines) and photo to lillian@templeconcord.org

    • Submit by Tuesday, September 9, 2025

    • Suggested donation: $36 (members) / $72 (non-members)

Let’s celebrate 5786 with hearts full of gratitude and connection.

From Tree of Life to L’dor vaDor

For many years, Temple Concord’s Tree of Life provided a meaningful way to commemorate simchas and support our congregation. Today, in keeping with national best practices across the Reform movement, we are evolving that tradition into an annual High Holy Day Appeal — a more immediate, impactful way to sustain Temple Concord’s mission, year after year.

Our new appeal, L’dor vaDor: Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future, reflects our congregation’s spirit and priorities — focusing on the here and now while laying the groundwork for a vibrant Jewish future. This shift allows every gift, large or small, to support the essential programs, clergy, and community connections that make Temple Concord a spiritual home for all who enter.

We honor the legacy of the Tree of Life. And together, we answer the call of the shofar — building a strong, inclusive, and joyful Temple Concord for the next generation.
