Welcome to Temple Concord
The historic, welcoming Reform congregation serving the Syracuse Jewish community since 1839.
!שלום (Shalom!)
We are so glad you are here!
Temple Concord is a vibrant Reform Jewish community committed to prayer, learning, justice, and connection. As the ninth oldest Jewish congregation in the United States, we honor our deep roots while embracing the evolving needs of today’s Jewish life. Whether you are new to Judaism, new to Syracuse, or simply exploring, we’re glad you’re here.
Who We Are
As a Reform congregation, we celebrate the diversity of Jewish life in Central New York. Our kehillah (community) includes lifelong Jews, Jews by Choice, interfaith families, people exploring Judaism, LGBTQ+ members, people of all ages and abilities. Our members value the depth and breadth of Jewish observance, and respect each other’s differing choices. We pray together, learn together, celebrate and mourn together, and care for one another as we build a meaningful Jewish future here in Central New York.
About Our History
Established in 1839, we are the ninth-oldest Jewish congregation in the United States and a member of the Union for Reform Judaism. Temple Concord has played a central role in Jewish life in Syracuse for over 185 years. From our early roots as an immigrant congregation to our role today as a key voice for Jewish values, education, and justice, our story is rich and ongoing.
Our Clergy and Staff
Cantor Kari Siegel Eglash and Rabbi Ilan Emanuel at Cantor Siegel Eglash's 10th Anniversary Celebration, May 2025
Temple Concord is guided by a dedicated team of clergy, staff, and lay leaders who work together to support the spiritual, educational, and communal life of our congregation.
In May 2024, Temple Concord sold our historic building at 910 Madison Street and moved to our temporary location, where we share space with Temple Adath Yeshurun while we plan our next permanent home.
We invite you to join us for Shabbat, celebrate with us for holidays, learn with Rabbi Emanuel and Cantor Siegel Eglash, and become part of our Temple Concord family. Whether you’re looking for spiritual connection, Jewish community, or a home for your family, you’ll find a place here.
